Your FAQs
What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those related to the spine. Treatment includes manual adjustments, muscle release, and other gentle techniques to improve mobility, alignment, and overall function.
Does chiropractic treatment hurt?
No, treatment is generally comfortable. Chiropractors use gentle, precise techniques. You may feel pressure or hear a small “pop,” but most patients experience relief or a release of tension, not pain. Some mild soreness after treatment is normal and usually passes quickly. Our head chiropractor Dr. Salim Khamissa has developed his own gentle technique, suited for patients of all ages , which involves no ‘clicking’ or ‘popping’. He is renowned for his technique and has helped thousands of patients.
What happens during a chiropractic adjustment?
Chiropractors apply controlled, targeted force to specific joints to improve alignment and mobility. You may hear a “popping” sound, which is simply gas being released from the joint.
What can I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit includes a full consultation and examination. We’ll review your health history, discuss your symptoms, and assess posture and movement. After identifying the root cause, we explain your condition and outline a clear treatment plan. With your consent, treatment may begin on the same day. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the next steps.
What conditions do you treat?
We commonly treat:
Back pain
Neck pain
Headaches and migraines
Joint pain
Postural issues
Muscle tension and stiffness
We also provide guidance on movement, posture, and lifestyle.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition and goals. Some patients feel improvement within 1–2 visits, while others, especially with chronic issues, may require a structured treatment plan over several weeks. Our goal is to help you recover efficiently, not keep you in ongoing care unnecessarily.
Do you offer cupping therapy?
Yes. We offer cupping therapy as part of a combined treatment approach when appropriate. It can help improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, and support recovery.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic care is widely recognized as safe when performed by a licensed professional. We use techniques tailored to your age, condition, and comfort level.
Can children or pregnant women receive chiropractic care?
Yes. We use modified, gentle techniques suitable for children and pregnant women. Care is always adapted to ensure safety and comfort.
Do I need a referral?
No, can book with us directly. A referral is not required.
Does insurance cover chiropractic care?
Some insurance plans cover chiropractic treatment. Coverage varies, so we recommend checking directly with your provider.
Is chiropractic the same as physiotherapy?
No. Both treat musculoskeletal issues, but the approach differs. Chiropractic focuses on spinal alignment and joint function, while physiotherapy typically focuses more on rehabilitation exercises and muscle strengthening.
